The LYCRA Company has been conducting consumer surveys for years, seeking to understand key hosiery pain points, and we knew that pantyhose waistbands were the source of many complaints. In 2024, we asked 600 consumers across Italy, Germany, Poland, and the U.K. to share their top pain points with sheer hosiery, and 3 out of 10 were related to the waistband: digging in, slipping down, and rolling down.

We couldn’t wait to develop a solution.

Our fundamental research lab started on a prototype, refining it until it resolved consumers’ waistband woes. Then, we spun it and spun it again to ensure it met our high standards. After that, we conducted a consumer wear test, and the great feedback we received confirmed that LYCRA® TOP COMFORT fiber was ready for market.
