Something special is coming soon to the North American denim market, and it’s all thanks to a partnership between The LYCRA Company, Star Fades International (SFI), and Artistic Milliners, leaders in denim innovation.
This year, the SFI innovation hub in Los Angeles, a sourcing/nearshoring destination, design developer, and denim laundry, and the new Artistic Milliners Mexico facility will begin offering LYCRA FitSense® denim technology to North American producers — right in their own backyard — along with others in the western hemisphere. It’s a first for the technology at a moment when consumer demand for locally sourced goods is rising.
This patented denim innovation creates invisible compression in targeted zones, providing comfortable shaping, sculpting, and a personalized fit. It’s a totally new wearing experience that puts the consumer’s comfort and shape first.
REVOLUTIONARY DENIM SHAPED BY YOU
LYCRA FitSense® denim technology delivers a unique wearing experience powered by advanced innovation: A LYCRA® fiber core is wrapped with a temperature-responsive fiber, then covered with a cotton sheath for a classic denim feel. Then, heat is applied to targeted sculpting zones, activating the LYCRA FitSense® denim technology and “locking” those zones into place — no bulky seams or paneling required.
This partnership is powered by an enthusiastic and mutual commitment to creativity and innovation, bringing together SFI’s deep denim knowledge and The LYCRA Company’s fiber and fabric innovation expertise.
"Our collaboration with SFI allows us to leverage our combined expertise to deliver a product that meets the evolving needs of consumers who demand both style and comfort,” said Geoffrey Hietpas, The LYCRA Company’s vice president of apparel, Americas. “By offering this technology for production in the western hemisphere, we are strengthening our commitment to regional manufacturing and supporting our brand partners' supply chain strategies."
A capsule collection, made with Artistic fabrics enhanced with LYCRA® FitSense denim technology, will be available for brands and mills to touch and view at Kingpins Amsterdam this month, and later this summer at Kingpins New York.
